How much flooring do I need?
Learners are challenged to work out how many planks of flooring are needed to cover my hall. This works well with a floor plan of the hall space marked out on the ground and letting learners use physical planks to see how they can fit into the space. Learners can research how the flooring is laid, they can explore if there are differences between just considering area and actually laying the sheets, and how they can minimise waste.
