“People Are Lovely” is a love song to my people; friends, family, fans, team and those who have shown up for me. The writing process was a beautiful, emotional rollercoaster. I went from crying to laughing, expressing feelings of loneliness to feelings of overwhelming love for those closest to me and letting go of my fear of rejection. Over the past 10 years I have lived across the country from my family, experienced heartbreak and remained steadfast in chasing my dreams as an artist- A journey that can too be desolate at times. An earlier song of mine, “My Person” was a testimony of those years. It addressed the heartache and loneliness I was feeling. Today, I am filled with more gratitude than ever. As I paused and reflected on the ways people have shown up for me during these stages of my life, “People Are Lovely” was born. It is my way of honoring MY PEOPLE. Through my music, I have a mission to turn the strangers I meet into my friends & family and be closer with them now, more than ever before. This song is a reminder to go forward with confidence, despite rejection. I am overflowing. I have so much I want to give to the world, as it has given me. Stay tuned because life is about to get dreamy. A new chapter I’d like to call “Stay Dreamy” has officially begun.
