ANCHOR 2019 - The Documentary
For the fourth time the "ANCHOR - Reeperbahn Festival International Music Award" took place in Hamburg, Germany during Reeperbahn Festival! The jury, which included Tony Visconti, Bob Rock, Peaches, Kate Nash, Arnim Teutoburg-Weiß (Beatsteaks) and Zan Rowe, chose a winner from six nominees.
The competition is not only a stepping stone to the careers of talented musicians, but also an opportunity to talk about important topics that these three women have taken up.
ANCHOR 2019 Judge Kate Nash, ANCHOR 2017 winner Jade Bird und ANCHOR 2019 Nominee Alyona Alyona, want to set an example against the under-representation of women in music industries.
All three are at different stages in their careers but have to fight quite the same problems.
We met them and talked about outdated clichés, a women's quota and - of course! - their music.: alyona alyona in her native Ukraine, Jade Bird during her promotion tour in Berlin and Kate Nash as ANCHOR Judge in New York and Hamburg.
