I Messed Up! Taking a Second Look at Trump Second Shooter Proof - Audio Analysis
Audio Analysis of Butler, PA 2024 Trump Rally Shooting. In my previous video, I thought I spotted a second shooter in the audio. This video, I point out what I missed.
A few notes:
1. In this video, I do not analyze whether or not the supposed shooter was actually the shooter. I take that for granted for the purposes of the video. That may need further analysis.
2. The final thump could theoretically have been a bullet hitting something further away, and the echo from that coming back to the mic.
3. Full disclosure, the audio I used here had been first processed to fix an issue that I talk about in the video. I show what I fixed and why in this video.
4. The audio I started with was the raw audio from the original live broadcast via YouTube. That's the best audio for this type of analysis, because the mic did not move, at least not significantly, so it is the closest we have to ground truth. Further analysis could certainly be made comparing other recordings.
5. As the commenter on my previous video rightly pointed out, the distances I marked on the recording do not correlate directly to the distance from the mic to the shooter, because the sound travels while the bullet travels. So, you'd have to add the distance the sound traveled while the bullet was traveling. There are many other factors as well, as I mentioned in the video. My purpose here was mostly to show whether or not there was another shooter, it wasn't really to calculate the exact distances.
