Mr. H. S. Shylla urged the people to choose a representative who is capable of legislating laws that will protect the welfare of its people. He also promised that if the NPP forms the next government, the party would make sure that the Meghalaya Town and Country Planning (Amendment) Act, 2004, which allows MUDA to extend its jurisdiction to rural areas, will be examined and amended.
