You might think you'd find only cold stone when you reached out, but fate had something else in store for that miner in the 1950s. As he wandered alone through the narrow tunnels, amidst the smell of rust and darkness, he encountered a glowing being that seemed to emerge from the very core of the earth. Its light seemed to arise of its own accord. It was as if something unseen were burning him from within, emitting a strange hum with every breath. It belonged neither to the sky nor to the earth… it was either too old or too new.
The miner secretly brought the stone to the surface. But as he hurried away, the curious gazes of his friends bored into his back. Time passed. When his friends visited, they would see a brief flicker of light from inside the house, but each time they entered the door, the man had vanished that bright object. As the visits multiplied, the man's face grew paler, his words slurred, his gaze blank. It was as if a door had opened in the back of his mind, and a wind no one knew had entered.
Then… one day, she disappeared completely. Leaving not a single trace in the house, not a single object, not a single memory. It was as if someone had erased a life from the page. Behind the house's walls lay only cold silence.
Much later, rumors spread that the strange object was the magical stone of Babylon, which a British team had been trying to find for years. It is believed to still be hidden within the house. But even after half a century, no one has found it. Those who have seen it have been rendered speechless or have been plunged into darkness. Whether it was protected by sealed beings from the demonic realm, or whether something beyond our knowledge was keeping watch, no one can say for sure.
Priests, imams, academics... they all came to the same conclusion: This place should be avoided. Even the villagers fled without a word. It was as if even the village soil refused to mention the stone.
As we investigated that house, we encountered whispers filtering through the walls, structures taking shape on their own in the village square, muffled screams resembling a woman's, and objects moving for no apparent reason. We still don't know exactly what we saw. Was it a djinn, something even older than djinn, or a darkness we've never recognized...?
