FULL TRANSCRIPT:
In a swiftly evolving business world, the need for proactive strategies cannot be overstated. Here I want to introduce a concept born of military precision, honed by experiences and the ever-present pressure of real-world stakes: The F3EAD Method. I've always maintained that one can draw parallels between battlefield tactics and business world strategies. This philosophy holds when examining the F3EAD cycle, which stands for find, fix, finish, exploit, analyze, and disseminate. The F3EAD cycle was originally conceptualized in Western militaries, particularly for operations culminating in actions such as drone strikes. It represents a systematic approach to threat management, an area of operation control. However, when we translate this military precision into the business context, it morphs into an effective tool for strategy optimization and efficiency within your marketing.
Find: this mirrors the intelligence phase where assets work to identify and locate a target. In the business realm, it translates into identifying a potential client or opportunities.
Fix: this phase involves utilizing tools and strategies to understand the potential clients challenges, offering tailored solutions to guide them through their decision making journey.
Finish: this would be an action on a target. In our context, it's where you make the sale. It's where the marketing qualified lead becomes a sales qualified lead, presenting your solution, addressing the client's concerns, and then sealing that deal.
Exploit: in a military operation, this would involve gathering intelligence for future operations. Similarly, in our context, this is post-sale, and it's where businesses can gain insight and plan for upselling or future engagement or ensuring product market fit.
Analyze: this step involves evaluating marketing of possibilities and opportunities, determining what worked, what failed, and drawing lessons learned for future marketing campaigns.
Disseminate: the results and intelligence are then shared across the whole team. Likewise, in business, the outcomes and insights are shared across your team to bolster our future marketing campaigns.
When applied to marketing, the F3EAD process presents a structured approach that can significantly increase your conversion rates. Find potential clients, fix them with engaging tools like social media, content, marketing, emails, public relations, and get face to face calls and marketing qualified leads. Finish them by closing the sale, effectively. Exploit and build upon the successes and failures with opportunities for cross sales, upsells and better product market fit. Analyze the results to continuously refine the process, improve over time, then disseminate those findings collectively across your leadership team and push towards enhanced sales and marketing efforts in the future.
