OPERATION RUBICON, PART 2, "TEMPEST"
The year is 2526. Despite Havok Company achieving their objectives in their previous deployment to Asmara, the outcome was neither expected nor positive for the United Earth Government.
After their camp was destroyed and their commander discovered missing, presumed dead, the remaining forces rallied behind a new leader, who launched a propaganda campaign against the UEG and conducted staged attacks to incite violence against the government.
Within a short few weeks, the breakaway movement had gained control of the planet and declared themselves an independent colony. Many UEG politicians and UNSC military forces were killed in the chaos during and following the power struggle.
Despite repeated attempts to regain control over the situation, the outbreak of a full-blown insurrection in the outer colonies and first contact of the Covenant threat meant that the UNSC was required to dedicate resources elsewhere and therefore unable to retake the planet.
Today, two factions are vying for control. The government loyalists, who still cling to the ideals of their founders, and the rebels, who wish to re-join the UEG, realising the scope of the threat that a Covenant invasion would have on the system.
Objectives:
(1) Meet with the rebel contact and handover the supply of weapons and ammunition.
(2) Assault the Falchion Relay, disabling it to prevent long-range communication between loyalist troops.
(3) Support rebel forces as they attack the military bases and supply depots scattered throughout the island.
(4) Extract at LZ Whiskey once all objectives are complete.
