Latviski: • Radiācija: Mīti un patiesība
Our project addresses a common but critical challenge — the fear of nuclear energy, often rooted in a lack of understanding — especially about radiation.
With this animation, we aim to dispel misconceptions about radiation, explain how it works, and encourage informed thinking. Our goal is not only to engage but to educate and empower the public with facts.
We are a team of nuclear energy enthusiasts and artists, working together to create content that is both informative and visually engaging. The educational content is based on blog post “Chernobyl — an HBO series beloved by the fossil fuel industry” by Valdis Vītoliņš (https://odo.lv/Blog/190614) and the materials referenced within it. The animation script is adapted by Ieva Vītoliņa, with support from Guna Jākobsone-Šņepste.
The animation is created by artist and animator Dace Liepa, with digital elements by Maija Marija Ozola. Voices are recorded by Alma Emīlija Liepa and Oscar Pickerill. Music is composed by Uģis Raibacis.
Our team belongs to the non-governmental organization “Development and Innovation Training Centre” (https://www.aimc.lv/), organizers of the annual “Nuclear Energy for Latvia” conference (https://nuclear.lv/).
Knowledge is power! Don’t fear radiation — understand it.
