Today I'm attempting the Quest 3 clear shell mod. If you've been on the VR subreddits, you've probably seen people posting their transparent Quest 3 builds, and I've been getting asked about this one for a while. Somebody actually sent me a modded unit a while back and I did a short on it, but I've never done the mod myself. In this video, I'm tearing down a Quest 3, swapping the faceplate for a clear shell, and seeing if this mod is actually worth doing or if it's just a headache.
If you grew up with transparent Gameboys, clear N64 controllers, and see-through consoles, you already know why people want this.
