Emerging from its origins in Patna, Samkalin Janmat reemerged like a proverbial phoenix from the ashes. Initially, it took the form of a socio-cultural quarterly publication. Those familiar with its trajectory recall that during the 1980s, Samkalin Janmat transformed into a multidimensional news weekly, injecting a fresh perspective into journalism. Beyond being a mere voice for the ongoing struggles of the marginalized in Bihar, it also established itself as a prominent cultural magazine within the Hindi heartland.

Upon its relocation to Delhi, Samkalin Janmat transitioned into a fortnightly publication. During this phase, its focus shifted towards the national political landscape, while still serving as a potent advocate for revolutionary culture. The publication posed essential questions, often simple yet frequently neglected or obscured by numerous excuses.

The significance of Samkalin Janmat was recognized by Mr. Kuber Dutt, the then Executive Producer at Doordarshan, leading to an interview with Irfan, the associate editor of Samkalin Janmat, being broadcasted on National Television in 1995. The interview was conducted by Ajit Rai
