A Glimpse of Mordor
After Samwise Gamgee had rescued Frodo form the evil Orcs in the tower of Cirith Ungol, the hobbits turned east and walked downwards into the wasteland of Mordor. There they stumbled across the barren plateau of Gorgoroth and finaly they find the entrance to the tunnel leading them deep into Orodruin and to the platform, called the Cracks of Doom{also known as Sammath Naur}.
It was in these fiery chambers, that Sauron forged the One Ring.
And it was here, that Frodo Baggins cast the Ring to be destroyed.
Well, at least this is what it felt like, when my wife and I visited the vulcano "Piton de la Fournaise" on the island "La Réunion" in the Indian Ocean. ;-)
