The Protagonist Magazine is a publication featuring exclusive interviews and images of protagonists of stage and screen. As a collectible hardback book, The Protagonist Magazine revives the tradition of luxury magazine publications such as The Yellow Book, which was published in the 1890s. In this issue London-based editors Ram Shergill and Daen Palma Huse have taken a refined and bold approach, presenting a modern mix of fine art and fashion photography, illustration and text.
The global launch event of The Protagonist Magazine was held at the Leica Studio S in Mayfair, the legendary camera brand for which Ram Shergill is an ambassador in the UK. Guests such as footballer David Ginola, cover star Felicity Gilbert, actors Will Tudor, Tom Brittney, Rosie Day and fashion greats such as Elizabeth Emmanuel got together on the red carpet and later enjoyed drinks and special performances. Performers of the night were producer and songwriter Blondie.G.D., guitarist Patrick Weeks, internationally acclaimed performance artist Abraham Brody and country singer Emily Faye and band – all styled by Aiden Connor in Ziad Ghanem couture.
The event was kindly supported by Leica UK, Mount Gay Rum, Lalique, Sexy Hair, Grapejuice Wines, Lola James Harper and PressOn, who produced an exhibition of large format prints from the print magazine on HP Latex.
