I Tried Building an AI from Scratch. Easy?
This month, I tried learning artificial intelligence from scratch. This takes approximately 15 days of introduction and learning. I started a machine learning / AI course from Andrew ng 3 years ago and it was a total disaster. I do not know anything about coding and have limited knowledge in statistics. So I could not do most of its assignments. Now I am going to learn it again from scratch, all of the concepts again. I start off with having a basic idea of AI in general. Then I took a short online course to learn about more specific topics like supervised learning and different type of algorithms. Then, I wanted to do some practical coding. This is the time I found nicholas renotte and his helpful videos. I tried following along coding in his super mario ai course using python and I completed it. It was not smooth sailing tho, there are a ton of errors and the beginning with installing the packages. Implementation of AI relies heavily on external algorithms and we just need to train our AI. Next I did his tensor flow object detection course and overall it was a superb experience. Recommended.
I am still a beginner tho as there are still a lot of algorithms to be implemented and I learn essential knowledge and skills it takes to be a data scientist.
