This travel documentary is a fun experiment. Truth be told, I don't have as much time as I'd like these days for my own creative projects but I finally had the time and energy by chipping away over the course of a week to edit footage we filmed almost a year ago.
The result was what you see here, which ended up being a sample of the type of travel content I aspire to create. It required me to go in and re-learn editing and a bunch of processes (and by no means am I an editor, nor a videographer, nor a sound engineer, so consider this just the best I could do with my current equipment and skill set).
Everything else you see on this channel to date has largely just been what I could manage as walking content tends to be slightly more cut and dry. But if other people find these types of videos entertaining or insightful, I will certainly try to push more out in my free time.
In this video, we take a month and a half to live a minimalist lifestyle in the Cerro Azul region of Panama, where I'm now an official resident.
We explore parts of Chagres National Park, where the house is located, and come across a number of animals including 3 species of monkeys, toucans, armadillos, eagles, woodpeckers, frogs, lizards and all sorts of little creatures.
Part vlog, part monologue, part reflection, this almost felt like an "episode" by the end so I decided to name it that way. If all goes well, I can have processes in place to get more of my travel content edited to this degree, and it can become parts of this series.
