Out for a quick evening cycle on a Focus Thron2, assessing a new SmallRig Magic Arm, which did a good job of keeping the DJI Action 2 camera firmly in place (when I wasn't kicking it, or the DJI fitting slipping). The DJI gets a bit noisy when the light is anything less than amazing, but that's to be expected with these tiny apertures.
It looks like HorizonBalancing (or whatever it's actually called) doesn't work quite so well in lower light, as we'll see towards the end of the sequence, but on the whole the camera performs pretty well, and the stabilisation is fantastic - when the camera isn't set to Pro settings, though I worry that I'm missing something.
Anyway, this clip shows how the DJI Action 2 performs in slightly lower light, and how the SmallRig MagicArm holds steady in incredibly choppy environments, despite it's length.
There was a little bit of post-processing in Davinci Resolve, with some colour correction, and a subtly blur to lend the footage a little more variation.
I'm pleased with how it looks, overall, but without a little colour correction the footage will look a bit blown-out. It's good that the luma detail is in there though.
