Tesla is officially approved to open their Giga Berlin factory. This will be the company's first European plant.

The company has been looking for a location for the past few years and finally settled on a spot in the German town of Schoenebeck, which is about 100 miles from Berlin. It will cost around $2 billion to build and employ up to 1,000 people. The factory will produce Tesla cars and batteries in order to meet the demand for both in Europe.

The Giga Berlin factory is set to open with an initial capacity of producing 100,000 vehicles per year, which would make it Tesla's third-largest production facility worldwide after its plants in California and China.
