STARLAB: The Space Station That Will Replace the ISS | Interview with Luis Sea (Chief Scientist)
Starlab is one of the space stations that will be responsible for replacing the ISS, the current International Space Station, once it is deorbited in early 2031.
To learn more, we spoke with Luis Zea, Chief Scientist of Starlab.
Luis, originally from Guatemala, gives us a complete overview in Spanish about the company, the size of the station, its functionalities, scientific research capabilities, and potential markets.
With a design that doesn't require assembly in orbit, Starlab consists of a large module that is 17 meters tall and 7.7 meters in diameter, with the capacity to house up to 8 crew members. It will be launched on a Starship in 2029.
Global Access: The new era of space stations will allow countries, universities, and industries that historically haven't had space programs to access orbit to conduct their own experiments and fly their own astronauts.
