Chickens And Gardens: A Perfect Combination!
Chickens and gardens go together like, well, chickens and gardens! My backyard flock help reduce my gardening workload significantly, keeping pests at bay and weeds struggling to get a foothold. My spring garden prep is easier than it's ever been because the chickens have got the garden weed free, tilled and fertilized for me. The one big downside to having a free range flock along with a big garden, is that chickens are definitely not helpful in the garden when you're actually trying to grow people food! Keeping them out when you want them out is a super important factor when putting together a system of gardening with chickens.
