"1020" is the second track from Samiul Haque's debut EP, "Different Shades of Lonely"
About the Song:
A couple of years ago I decided to uproot myself from everything familiar, like so many of us do. Away from the heart of it all, I found myself trying to verbalize and categorize this feeling, this different hue of loneliness. And as more time passed, with each meaningful conversation and pensive moment, fleeting thoughts became concrete ideas.
I realized that I had unknowingly entered the confines of an invisible contract, where neither here nor there would ever feel the same again. This state of "in-betweenness" had become an unwanted but constant companion.
To those out there in search of that somewhere, where that path once so dear begins to reappear and a small corner starts to feel like home, this one is for you.
Lyrics:
And the sun
Off it goes
Back it comes
On its own all alone
Oh the moon
See it shine
Moving tides
Lighting up my soul
Here I stand
As a grain
A speck of dust
And contemplate the whole design
We are all
In the game
Of moving on
Not looking back don't fall behind
Can you take me there?
A place of comfort where someone cares?
Can you take me there?
When shadows hit the floor I don't feel lonely anymore
I'm floating, always in-between
Nowhere's home
The grass was never green
I'm floating, always in-between
Nowhere's home
The grass was never green
Does it get better?
Does it make sense?
Or maybe it gets worse
And we learn to pretend
I'm floating (The grass was never green)
I'm floating (The grass was never green)
I'm floating (The grass was never green)
