An homage to the brief and unique period of digital car dashboards. Throughout the 1980s and into the early 90s vehicle designers seemed to be bitten by the futurism bug and worked a number of features into cars that were ahead of their time. Many manufacturers began introducing digital systems in their vehicles which gave drivers things like digital climate control, information systems, voice assistants, and replaced physical gauges on dashboards with sleek digital screens.
Many of these new features are now common in everyday vehicles, but one feature largely disappeared - the digital dash. Except for a select few modern cars (mostly Toyotas), cars today have reverted back to physical gauges, and only within the last few years have we started to see a return to full-digital dashboards in higher-end vehicles.
Style is cyclical. Who knows, maybe they'll bring that back.
