Rail Fest: Double Headed Steam on the Pichi Richi Railway
It’s the weekend of July 27th in 2024 and the Pichi Richi Railway are having their rail fest event. Iconic locomotive and rollingstock from the South Australian Railways, Commonwealth Railways, Silverton Tramway Company and West Australian Government Railways are all present. This narrow gauge preservation railway operates along beautiful scenery in the Flinders Ranges of South Australia.
In this video we see NM25 operate the Afghan Express out of Port Augusta before combining with Yx141 and the Explorer at Woolshed Flat.
Pichi Richi Railway are celebrating 50 years of operations this weekend, and what a way to celebrate it! Congratulations to all of those involved; past, present and future for keeping this state asset running.
