Making your own ethernet or patch cables is easy! Being able to crimp your own cables is a great skill to have and is not difficult at all. Crimping your own cables is also a lot cheaper as buying pre-made cables, and best of all, you can fix a broken connector on a broken cable that would otherwise be discarded as trash!
