Recent reports say Donald Trump’s family business has built close ties with Pakistan. According to former U.S. officials, this has influenced Trump to take steps that sides India.
One example is trade. Trump’s government placed very high tariffs on Indian goods, up to 50%. At the same time, Pakistani imports faced much lower tariffs, around 19%. This created anger in India and raised questions about fairness.
There are also reports of Trump’s family company working with Pakistan in crypto and energy. Their crypto firm, World Liberty Financial, signed deals with the Pakistan Crypto Council. The U.S. also agreed to new trade and energy projects with Pakistan, including oil reserves.
Experts say these actions have damaged the U.S.–India relationship. For more than 20 years, both countries worked closely as partners. But now, because of Trump’s personal business links, that trust has weakened.
