In this lecture, I introduce you to the essential concept of coordinates in AutoCAD, emphasizing how incredibly exact the program is, down to 10 decimal places. I start by reviewing the basic Cartesian coordinate system, which uses X and Y values, and then dive into absolute coordinates, explaining that they are always measured from the 0,0 origin and showing you how to ensure dynamic entry is turned off to use them correctly. Following that, I switch gears to relative coordinates, which are measured from your last entered point, and demonstrate how to input them. Finally, I move on to relative polar coordinates, which I find much easier than using trigonometry, showing you how to input a distance and an angle to easily create lines at a specific direction.
