TINGO MARÍA - What to see in a day without a tour? / TRAVEL WITH JORGE
We visited the beautiful city of Tingo María, also known as "The Gateway to the Peruvian Amazon." Here's a summary of my first day in Tingo María:
HOW TO GET THERE?
I departed from Lima on the Expreso Internacional bus (Lima-Tingo María ticket price is S/. 80.00).
The trip takes an average of 12 hours.
WHERE TO STAY?
I recommend booking your accommodation in advance, as I had difficulty finding a room. After several attempts, I found a room at Hospedaje Mario's (S/. 50.00 per night), located a few meters from Tingo María's main square.
WHAT TO VISIT?
Tingo María National Park:
Adult entrance fee is S/. 11.00
Owl Cave
Boat ride on the Monzón River is S/. 5.00
Santa Carmen Waterfall:
General admission: S/. 3.00
Pavas Cave: Admission is free.
Sleeping Beauty Viewpoint: Free access
