Autel Evo 2 Pro Dynamic Tracking Crash
While filming with the Autel Evo 2 Pro's dynamic tracking, I ran into an issue where the sun more than likely confused the sensors. Coming out of a shadow into the sun, the drone suddenly shot off to the right and into a tree.
The drone's obstacle avoidance was not able to see the tree and it plowed right into it.
Fortunately the drone landed softly and was fine with the exception of two props which I changed out. It's the first time I've had any mishap with the Evo 2 Pro, and it wasn't fun thinking about the damage when I was looking for it. I've ran dynamic tracking several times with not previous issues, even more difficult environments. The biggest difference is the sun blinding the drone this time.
Hopefully this helps those using dynamic tracking and serves as a reminder the sun can play havoc on the sensors. This also applies to water reflections etc., so be careful. With the sensors the drone can become very erratic and may do something very unexpected.
