"In Him (in Jesus) we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our sins according to the riches of His grace," especially in the phrase "the forgiveness of our sins" (Ephesians 1:7).

Can there be a sweeter word in any language than that word "forgiveness" when it rings in the ear of a guilty sinner?
Can it be possible that sin—a sin as heinous as mine—can be forgiven, forgiven completely and forever? Hell is my portion as a sinner; there is no possibility of escape from it while sin remains upon me.
Can the unfathomable burden of my guilt be removed? Can the crimson stain of my sins be blotted out?
Can the chains of my prison be loosed, or the gates lifted from their bars?
Jesus tells me that I can still be forgiven. Forever blessed be the revelation of redeeming love, which not only tells me that forgiveness is possible, but that it is assured for all who rest in Jesus. I have believed in the sacrifice appointed to atone for sin, Jesus crucified, and therefore my sins are forgiven at this moment, and forever, by virtue of His sufferings and substitutionary death. What joy is this! What bliss to be a perfectly forgiven soul! My soul dedicates all its strength to Him who, out of His own priceless love, became my surety and obtained redemption for me through His blood.
What a wealth of grace free forgiveness displays!
To forgive absolutely,
To forgive fully,
To forgive freely,
To forgive forever.
Here is a constellation of wonders!
When I think of...
how great my sins were,
how costly the precious drops that cleansed me from them, and
how much grace there was in the work by which forgiveness was sealed in me,
I am in a labyrinth of affection, in adoration and wonder!
I bow before the throne that absolves me.
I grasp the cross that sets me free.
From now on, for all my days, I serve the incarnate God, by whom today I am a forgiven soul.
