Note: The correct term is "extraverted." "Extroverted" is colloquial, but according to Duden, it can also be used.

Introversion and extraversion are terms coined by the psychiatrist Carl Gustav Jung in Switzerland in the 1920s. According to Jung, an extrovert seeks intensive contact with the outside world. An introvert, instead, directs their psychic energy inward. Jung believed that no one is 100% extroverted or 100% introverted; instead, we possess both traits. However, most people tend toward one or the other.
