True Crime is Dead
It's a feeling we all share. This once loved genre has turned stale but it is hard to put a finger on what exactly has happened to it. That's what I thought, until I realised how much evidence of that change surrounded me. Millions of true crime videos covering millions of cases with millions of views, and yet it took me so long to realise what the effect of that would be. The abundance of Podcasts about Ted Bundy, surrounded by Stores of Dahmer, in between investigations into (insert some random nobody). The writing was on the wall and it's written with lipstick and chicken grease.
