Impressions from Day 2 (Part 2) | The Munich Security Conference 2019
On 16 February, the discussions at the Munich Security Conference 2019 went into their second day, with challenges of arms control, climate change, regional conflict resolution and looming great power competition ranking high on the agenda.
The second half of the day's programme featured panel discussions on nuclear security, climate change, and security issues in the Balkans and Eastern Europe. A highlight of the evening was the ceremony for the Ewald von Kleist Award, named after the MSC's founder, which honoured Alexis Tsipras and Zoran Zaev, the Prime Ministers of Greece and North Macedonia.
