Regression model with categorical dependent variable using IBM SPSS
This 12-minute video explains how to overcome a limitation in the Linear Regression dialogue box in SPSS. The default linear regression option in IBM SPSS does not treat categorical variables as categorical variables and instead treats them as continuous variables.
I illustrate the use of the General Linear Model to estimate a regression model with continuous and categorical explanatory variables and how to interpret the results.
