Avani Betta | Trekking | Ramayana
Avani Betta is a scenic hill in the Kolar district of Karnataka, India that's known for its natural beauty, historical significance, and trekking. Avani Betta is about 15–20 minutes off the main highway. The trailhead is near the Adhijabuvantha temple in Kolar and is accessible by bus, taxi, cab, or private vehicle. Avani Betta is a popular destination for trekkers and history enthusiasts. The hill is dotted with temples, caves, and other sites of archaeological interest. A popular temple dedicated to Sita, a character in the Ramayana. It's believed that Sita gave birth to her twin sons, Lava and Kusha, at Avani. Ramalingeshwara temple with a sanctum, vestibule, and hall with decorative pillars. The base of the temple has mouldings with Kirtimukha and lions in relief. There are also temples dedicated to the Pandavas, Valmiki, and Lakshman. The trek to the top of Avani Betta is full of rocks and boulders.
