What is Broadcast Frame?
A broadcast frame is a type of data packet sent over a network to all devices within a specific broadcast domain. When a broadcast frame is transmitted, it is delivered to all network nodes on the same local area network (LAN) segment, regardless of their MAC addresses. This is useful for network services that need to communicate with all devices, such as ARP (Address Resolution Protocol) requests, which map IP addresses to MAC addresses. Broadcast frames help facilitate network-wide communication but can also lead to increased traffic and congestion if used excessively.
