This documentary project is a series of original video lectures by renowned historian, author of numerous books and encyclopedias, and specialist in the history of Nazi Germany, Konstantin Aleksandrovich Zalessky. The lectures cover the history of the rise, development, and fall of fascist regimes in various European countries from 1918 to 1945. During this time, fascism, to varying degrees, spread throughout European societies. In Italy, Spain, Germany, Romania, Czechoslovakia, Croatia, Hungary, Poland, the Baltic republics, and several other countries, fascists were able to come to power and implement their political program. In other countries, such as France, Great Britain, Denmark, Norway, and Finland, powerful fascist movements emerged, which also exerted a certain influence on society and the state. In his lectures, Konstantin Zalessky offers a detailed analysis of the origins of fascism as a political movement, its ideology, the organizational structure of fascist parties and movements, the state policies of the fascists, and the war crimes they committed before and during World War II. The author concludes that any fascist ideology and any fascist regime are inherently criminal. The lecturer likens fascism to a "political drug" that ultimately leads to totalitarianism, economic crisis, numerous bloody wars, state crimes against its own citizens, and the collapse of the entire political system. The series of video lectures is illustrated with unique, never-before-seen footage from captured newsreels shot in various European countries in the 1930s and 1940s.
