GitHub ships the Copilot desktop app in technical preview, Linear adds Agent MCP support, and Notion launches Plan Mode — this week's collaboration SaaS recap.

GitHub Copilot is leaving the editor. The new native desktop app, now in technical preview, runs agentic development from your work queue instead of inside a repo — the agent works in isolation while you steer it. Waitlist is live ahead of a June 2 release.

Linear Agent now speaks the Model Context Protocol, connecting Granola, Glean, Notion, and PostHog through a single protocol. Meeting notes become follow-up issues, specs come back complete, and admins keep allowlists, permissions, and triage rules in place. Hit Command-J anywhere and the Agent picks up your selection.

Notion introduces Plan Mode, positioning the workspace as a product development system for teams and agents — the orchestration layer where other agents run, with Directory and governance controls. Mattermost v11.7 bundles Agents v2.0, custom AI prompts, and ABAC extended to Team Admins, stitching AI capability and fine-grained authorization into one release.

Asana rewrites its data model with Teamless Projects, letting a project exist without a parent team or be shared with multiple teams and individuals. Zulip Server 12.0 lands ~5,500 commits including end-to-end encryption for mobile push, a Docker rework, and configurable image previews. Dropbox pushes its content layer directly into ChatGPT with three native apps — a Dropbox file app, the Dash retrieval app, and a Reclaim AI calendar app.
