Today I am going to share with you why recording in 4K is KING for any kind of video recording. Especially YouTube…. Mainly YouTube…. Or any video that will be displayed on ANYTHING bigger than 6” *wink*.

First of all, YouTube and other video platforms do give you bonus points for uploading in 4K. It’s no secret that they promote those that are in high quality compared to those in 1080P and lower.

Once you get into editing up your videos to the juiciest moments, you’ll want to utilize jump shots, pattern interrupts, and so on, and the most common one is to zoom in closer to your face or other body part. [hand flick]. When you do this in 1080p you lose a lot of quality.
The pixels just aren’t there.
In 4K when you zoom in you keep the fidelity of the shot and in the end produces a more professional video. [show a small clip of one of our videos where we zoom in and it looks good]

Taking screenshots of the video to get high resolution pictures. This is HUGE! I can’t tell you how many times we did not pose for a thumbnail and were able to just take a screenshot of the video itself. Bam! 4K pictures without taking them separately. Now that is efficiency right there.

4K resolution isn’t going anywhere, so when you record in it, you are essentially future proofing your video. How many years will pass before certain platforms remove or stop promoting 1080P? Set yourself up for success and hit the link button for the Google Algorithm.

In the case of TikTok, you may not NEED 4K (in fact, they reject 4K when you try to upload) but it does allow you to use your footage from your TikTok so you can cross-post to other platforms that do enjoy the 4Kness. Let’s be real, if you spent all of the time getting the perfect TikTok, you best be posting GIFs to Reddit, tutorials on how you did it to YouTube, and time lapses to FB and Instagram. We need to reach the Karen’s of the world right now. C'mon!
Anyways, that’s all for today guys!
Stay tuned right now though to find out exactly the tools we used to record this video.
#1: The Presidential Teleprompter. We load the script up for our video here on an iPad with Prompt Smart Pro, utilizing voice activation to get through the script quickly and efficiently.
Behind me is a green screen which allows us to put up awesome pictures and videos while I’m talking!
Behind the teleprompter is a Canon 1DX Mark III. Yes, we splurged for that 4K quality but we HAVE been at the video creation game for several years now.
Attached to the Canon is a Neweer Shotgun Mic which is highly directional and focuses specifically on the talent. This is great for us because we are filming on the busiest street in town, not to mention all of the manufacturing noises from the shop back there (point toward shop).
From there we import our clips into Adobe Premiere and go HAM on it!
If you enjoyed this video hit that like button in the FACE. I love you guys so much, thanks for watching, by guys!
