I wash my hair with soapwort root shampoo and make a rinse
In this video, I collected soapwort and washed my hair instead of shampoo. After washing, I made a rinse from the plant's leaves and flowers.
For the shampoo, I needed a small amount of the root, which I cut into pieces and boiled in water (1:20) for 10 minutes.
For the boiling, I boiled the leaves and flowers for 10 minutes. You can add 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar to the decoction.
Soapwort contains saponins, which are surfactants, meaning they foam. Saponaria also contains tannins, essential oils, mucilage, resins, calcium, copper, manganese, and zinc. This plant has antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and wound-healing properties. A decoction is used for hair loss, seborrhea oleosa, to accelerate hair growth, and to soften the skin.
