Snipers United is a Halo 3 community montage originally released in 2009, created to showcase the talent of players who lacked the resources to produce their own montages. Captured with a Hauppauge HD PVR and edited in Adobe After Effects & Sony Vegas, the video features a lineup of highly skilled players from the peak era of H3F, with Dutchy being the most recognized name among them.
As a snipers-only montage, Snipers United stood out for its precise gameplay, clean execution, and polished editing. It remains one of pTw’s most refined works from that period, demonstrating a balance of creativity and technical skill. While well-received within the community, it remained somewhat under the radar compared to other high-profile montages of the time.
The 2025 Remaster
Now, over 15 years later, Snipers United has been remastered for the Frag Movie Art digital showcase with several key enhancements. The sound design has been meticulously refined, with every major sound effect manually enhanced and remastered to create a more immersive experience. The color grading has been improved to bring out richer tones, and AI-powered 4K upscaling via Topaz Video AI enhances the video’s clarity while preserving its original look and feel. The entire remastering process took approximately 12 hours, ensuring the video remains true to its original style while benefiting from modern improvements.
This remaster aims to honor the original while delivering an improved viewing experience for both longtime fans and new audiences. As a project that was made for the community, Snipers United remains an important piece of Halo montage history, now presented in its best possible form.
