In this video, we will show you how to perform real-time motion capture in CTA5 using a webcam, video files, or VR devices.
You will need to install the plugins from this page in both iClone and CTA5. Additionally, make sure your iClone is already connected to Dollars MoCap products. If you are unsure how to do this, please refer to the instructions on this page.
Once the plugins are installed in iClone and CTA5, you will see them in the Plugins menu of both software.
Let's add a character in CTA5. In iClone, open the plugin from the Plugins menu.
First, click on Add Dummy to add a dummy character to the iClone scene.
Then, click Activate Link.
Back in CTA, open the plugin as well. In the Body section, activate iClone's Motion Link. You will see the status change to Standby in the upper right corner of iClone.
Since this character does not have hand bones, we don't need the Motion Link for hands.
Then, in the character list, add Motion Link to the body of the character.
Click Preview, then press space, and you can see the character in CTA is in TPose like the figure in iClone.
Open Dollars MoCap products and make sure iClone Streaming is activated.
Back in iClone, open the Dollars MoCap plugin.
Click Connect, then Start. You will see that through iClone, you can now perform real-time motion capture for the character in CTA.
You can also select a character with finger bones. We are using Dollars VIVA and Index controllers here.
