Handle Your Sword (7 Piece Drum Mic Set)
In the spirit of more is more, this time we tried out a 7-piece drum mic setup courtesy of Jeeby's new Phenyx Pro drum mic set. (Except for 1 substitution for my trusty old SM57 on snare.)
Initial observations:
1. Having a proper kick drum mic really helps.
2. The extra tom mic (for Rack Tom 2) is nice, but not sure if it's worth the extra XLR cable. 🤔
3. Using drum mic clips for the toms is a godsend.
4. I really need to invest in an XLR snake for better cable management. 🐍😅
