How to unhide apps on Samsung phones.

If you use a Samsung phone, you may have noticed that these devices offer plenty of options for customizing how your apps and home screen look. One of the most useful features is the ability to hide apps. This feature helps when you want to keep your phone screen clean, when you do not want other people to see certain apps, or when you want to prevent distractions from apps you rarely use. However, after hiding apps, many people later forget how to make them visible again. This leads to the common question of how to unhide apps on Samsung phones. The process is simple once you understand it, but there are different ways to do it depending on your device model, your version of Samsung’s One UI, and where the app was hidden.

Hiding apps can happen in different ways. The most common way is through the home screen or app drawer settings where Samsung gives you a direct hide option. Another way is when an app is disabled, which makes it disappear from your phone as though it were hidden. There is also Samsung’s Secure Folder, which can keep apps locked away separately. Knowing these options is important because the method to unhide the app will depend on how it was hidden in the first place.

The first and easiest method to unhide apps is through the home screen settings. Start on your Samsung home screen and press and hold any empty space. A menu will pop up with options like Wallpapers, Widgets, and Home screen settings. Tap Home screen settings and then select Hide apps. A list of all your installed apps will appear. Hidden apps will already be marked. To unhide them, simply remove the mark or unselect the app and then press Done or Apply. Once you do this, the app will reappear in your app drawer, and you can place it back on your home screen if you like. This method is fast and works on most Samsung phones.

Another way is to unhide apps from the main settings menu. Open the Settings app on your Samsung phone, then go to Display or Home screen depending on your software version. Inside, you will also find the Hide apps option. From here, the process is the same: unselect the apps you want to bring back and confirm. This works especially well if you are already in settings adjusting other features.

Sometimes, though, the issue is not that the app is hidden, but that it has been disabled. A disabled app will not appear in your drawer and cannot run until it is enabled again.

If the app is not hidden or disabled, the next place to check is Secure Folder. Secure Folder is a private space within Samsung phones that allows you to store apps, files, and photos with extra protection. Apps moved here do not show in the regular drawer. To check, open Secure Folder and sign in using your password, PIN, or fingerprint. If the app is there, you can either keep it inside but create a shortcut for it, or move it back outside so it shows in your main app list. Secure Folder is often used for apps like banking, email, or messaging when users want extra privacy.
