Here are some useful tips to help you approach different sections of an exam, shared by Shivam Nikhare (ACE MBA):
English Section:
For questions with 5 options, mark option D, and for questions with 4 options, mark option C.
For Reading Comprehension questions, focus on making inferences and drawing conclusions. Read the first two lines of the first paragraph and the last two lines of the last paragraph to get a sense of the overall answer. Choose the option that makes the most sense to you, or look for the most repeated option.
For Synonyms and Antonyms questions, choose the option that is most different from the other three.
For Para Jumbles or Sentence Rearrangement questions, choose the most repeating option.
Trust your intuition and common sense, and don't waste time second-guessing your answers.
Maths Section:
For questions with 5 options, mark option D, and for questions with 4 options, mark option C.
Eliminate the two extreme options and choose the option that is closest to the remaining ones.
Avoid spending too much time on questions that require finding numbers divisible by the same numbers.
For Data Sufficiency questions, look at the length of the statement and data to determine which statement is sufficient.
Puzzles Section:
For questions with 5 options, mark option D, and for questions with 4 options, mark option C.
Start solving the puzzle and eliminate one case at random. Then mark all the options based on your solution.
You can expect to score around 3 marks out of 5 by following this approach.
Traditional LR Section:
For questions with 5 options, mark option D, and for questions with 4 options, mark option C.
Look for patterns and repetitions in the questions to determine the correct answer.
For Coding Decoding questions, check for one or two words in Chinese coding.
For Blood Relations questions, check whether the person in question is a girl or boy if possible.
For Data Sufficiency questions, look at the length of the statement and data to determine which statement is sufficient.
Critical Reasoning Section:
For questions with 5 options, mark option D, and for questions with 4 options, mark option C.
Avoid using common sense and focus on choosing conservative options.
Ignore options that use extreme words like continuously, most, or very.
Abstract Reasoning Section:
Look for repeating items in the figures to determine the correct answer.
Choose the option with the most repetitions in the answer choices.
