Throwback Thursday 😊This week’s tip is the next step for standing balance. Standing reaction balance is important to challenge children’s postural control. Use a large ball or barrel to assist the child in holding their weight and recover balance during the activity. It is also Ideal for children that are starting to transition to standing independently but are unable to control theIr equilibrium forward or backwards. Children with high/low tone, cerebral palsy, and vision impairments can also benefit from the activity. Be sure to check with your local therapist to determine if this tip is safe and appropriate for your child.
While performing this tip, be sure to have a second person close by to be able to assist and prevent from falling.
