The rebab is a traditional Sundanese musical instrument played by bowing.
This instrument is a characteristic feature of the accompanying music for wayang, jaipongan, and other forms of music.
Something would feel incomplete if the gamelan were not accompanied by the rebab.
The mystery in this story is that wayang performances are always accompanied by the rebab. There must be a mysterious incident that causes the rebab accompaniment to be absent.
