ENGL 2089: Common Citation Problems
As I am looking through the sources for your research review annotated sources, I see that there have been some challenges with citation generators.
When in doubt, the definitive source for citation formatting is The Online Writing Lab at Purdue. However, in order to do a correct citaiton, you need to know what kind of source you are working with.
Just because you have found a source online, doesn't necessarily mean it is a website. Many sources are online periodicals, both popular and scholarly. Each has a different kind of citation. The OWL at Purdue will help you with the different ways different kinds of sources are cited.
It doesn't get any easier with using citation generators like EasyBib or CitationMachine or the citation option in Academic Search Complete. For Academic Search Complete, it will give you a URL that won't work, and it will randomly capitalize things: you need to edit both these problems. For EasyBib or CitationMachine, you need to choose the correct kind of source: don't just use "website", you may need to use "journal", "newspaper", or "magazine" to get the correct format.
