Loggerhead sea turtles are one of the five species that we see here on our Florida beaches. Meet Big Bill, a sub-adult loggerhead sea turtle that stranded on April 6th, 2020 in New Smyrna Beach. Big Bill was admitted for being emaciated, lethargic, severely anemic, and barnacle encrusted. This patient had an intake weight of 42.6kg/94lbs and gained 15.8kgs/34lbs. Big Bill improved over the months with fluid therapy, antibiotics, vitamin injections, and dewormer. This lovely loggerhead sea turtle was able to be released on July 9th, 2020 in great health!
