Well, after months and months of delaying, I finally decided to just upload this project lol. The vast majority of what you see here was built over the course of about two months (from April to June), and I then proceeded to sit on it, almost untouched, for three months. For the few of you who saw the community posts from months ago teasing this project, you might remember seeing that the original project was meant to be six levels long, and while the ideal version of the project would include that sixth level, I simply ran out of motivation. That being said, if I really felt it was a necessary part of the project conceptually, I would’ve forced myself to finish it, so I don’t think its omission is too big of a deal overall. Anyway, regardless of what trouble I went through building this, it’s finally finished in my eyes, so here it is!
In terms of concept and meaning, I don’t really wanna speak on any of it, at least not yet. I feel like a few themes are relatively straightforward, but I’d rather let each of you guys interpret the meanings in your own ways. I will say, however, that building this series of levels really helped me in a lot of ways and this project means a lot to me, so I really hope that at least one of you gets something meaningful out of this as well.
This project clearly has a lot of ties to music, specifically the music that has meant the most to me in recent years. The lyric quotes used at the beginning of each of the levels come from some of my favorite songs of all time from some of my favorite artists of all time, and while the lyrics’ meanings tie into the levels in some ways, don’t take them all at face value. The songs I pulled all the lyrics from will be linked below, and I highly recommend giving them all a listen in the order I’ve listed them, as in my opinion it works as its own little conceptual experience.

So yeah, that’s about all I want to say for right now. Having started college a few weeks ago, I’ve had almost no free time to build gd levels, but that certainly does not mean that I’m quitting building, at least not anytime soon.
