** unedited owls in nature.  Please only watch if you are comfortable seeing real life behavior **

From fairly early on the Siblings were very caring and generous with one another. It was rare to see them fighting for food, and the older siblings were betty indulgent work baby Min. Here we see a Sibling voluntarily giving Her a Rodent.

We are happy each night to see the owlets at the house and to see how Bonded they are with each other. For now we are enjoying that they are still here, and preparing ourselves for the time they move on.

-  The Owlets Are 10 weeks old. They are at the age where they are becoming more independent.

The Owlets Appear to be staying in the house less and less and rather sleep in trees in the area. They still are hanging out on the House at night hoping for food Drop Offs.

-During this time barn owlets will leave the nest for a while to investigate the area and play-hunt but will still return to nest for a few weeks. This helps the Barn owl to get used to hunting and looking for prey as they will not learn to hunt from their parents and instead will need to rely on their own natural instincts. (from https://owlchatter.com/when-do-owlets...) .

At around 12 weeks of age the owlets gradually venture further and further afield until at about 13 weeks old they instinctively leave to find their own home range. This is called dispersal. By 14 weeks almost all the owlets have left their parents’ home range. There is some evidence that lingering young are chased away by the adults (particularly by the female) but records also exist of young being tolerated for several months after fledging. Owlets generally do not disburse too far from home, though in rare cases they can go as far as 1000 miles. Choosing a home depends on a number of factors including food availability.
Barn Owls do not migrate south for the winter.

Definitions:

Fledge - this is when the Owlet is able to fly. They initially fly from the owl nest but return. It is practice for when they leave to be on their own. This process can take some time and the Owlets are vulnerable during this period.

Disbursal - this is when the Owlet leaves the comfort of their house to find their new home.
