How to Identify Ants with The Pest Dude
Hey folks, Zach Smith here, The Pest Dude, and in today's video, we're tackling a common ant problem! If you're seeing ants around your property that aren't going for the sweet baits, it's time to identify the type of ant you're dealing with and find out what bait will work best.
We noticed some ants feeding on a dead lizard, which means they're probably after protein and fats. This could be Argentine ants or another species that's more protein-inclined. In this video, we'll show you how to use sticky tape to catch an ant and how to identify it under a microscope by checking its nodes and thorax shape. Using an online species key, we'll pin down exactly what ant we're dealing with and choose the right bait to eliminate the problem.
